Dr. Janalyn Glymph
As Personnel Director for the Los Angeles Unified School District’s Personnel Commission, Dr. Janalyn W. Glymph oversees the human resources operations for over 38,000 non-teaching employees in the nation’s second largest school district.
Dr. Glymph began her career with the Los Angeles Unified School District in 1976 and has served in a variety of other critical positions including: Executive Officer of the Board of Education; Director of Project Management and Construction; Deputy Business Manager (where she was responsible for 10,000 employees and a budget of $1.1 billion); and General Manager of KLCS-TV (the District’s PBS Television Station). While at KLCS, Dr. Glymph guided the Station to eight Emmy Awards and 16 Emmy nominations for the production of original educational programming.
Dr. Glymph was appointed to serve as a member of the California Credit Union Supervisory Committee in April 2014. Other committees and boards on which Dr. Glymph has served include: California Public Television; the National Educational Telecommunications Association; the Los Angeles Music Center’s Education Council; and Media and Medicine for Communities. Dr. Glymph is also the recipient of many awards and has been recognized throughout the District, the City of Los Angeles, the State of California, and the nation for outstanding service in educational leadership.
Dr. Glymph received her Ph.D. from U.S. International University in Leadership and Human Behavior, her M.A. from the USC Annenberg School of Communications in Communications Management, and her B.A. from the University of Southern California in English with a minor in Business Administration.
