CCU Teacher Grant 

Since 2012, California Credit Union is pleased to support the education community by offering our Teacher Grant Program. The Grant is designed to assist educators by funding innovative learning opportunities for their students.

2015 applications are now being accepted. Eligible participants are active full-time classroom teachers in Los Angeles County with qualifying projects. Winners of Fall 2014 Teacher Grants Announced

California Credit Union (CCU) announced today the 10 winners of the Fall 2014 Teacher Grants. Recipients will receive an award in the amount of up to $500 to use towards their 2014-2015 class projects.

Winners of Spring 2014 Teacher Grants Announced

California Credit Union (CCU) announced today the 10 winners of the Spring 2014 Teacher Grants. Recipients will receive an award in the amount of up to $500 to use towards their 2014-2015 class projects.

“Our Teacher Grant Program has received much praise from our partners in education, but recognition should be given to all the teachers applying for our grant. These teachers take the time in their busy schedules to request funds for their classrooms ideas; that is a testament to their dedication to education”, said John Bretthauer, Chief Operating Officer.

We are pleased to award the following Spring 2014 CCU Teacher Grants to Teacher / School / School District:

  • Franklin Hsu / North Park High School / Baldwin Park Unified School District
  • Heather Heyert / Robert E. Peary Middle School / Los Angeles Unified School District
  • Simi Storm / Stoner Ave. Elementary School / Los Angeles Unified School District
  • Joei Dyes / North Hollywood High School / Los Angeles Unified School District
  • Gregory Lakey / Environmental Charter High School / Lawndale Unified School District
  • Brenda White-Keller / Newhall Elementary / Newhall Unified School District
  • Monique Contreras / John Muir High School / Pasadena Unified School District
  • Carolyn Halpern / Sierra Madre Elementary School / Pasadena Unified School District
  • Lorrie Spotts / South High School / Torrance Unified School District
  • Alex Chen / West Covina High School / West Covina Unified School District

Since the creation of the program in 2012, a total of $25,000 has been awarded to schools throughout Los Angeles County. Schools benefiting from this year's program used the funds towards initiatives such as for special education, business concepts, solar energy, water conservation, and literacy.
