California Credit Union Unveils New Logo and Tagline
Glendale, CA (Aug. 1, 2007) -- California Credit Union (CCU) unveiled its new logo and tagline at a ceremony at the CCU corporate headquarters in Glendale. The new logo and tagline illustrate CCU’s partnership with the education community. CCU was formed by educators in 1933 and continues to help improve the financial future of teachers, students, alumni and others affiliated with the education community. Chairman of the Board Dr. Francis Nakano said, “We knew what we wanted - a logo that would instantly identify us to the public as being part of the education community. We asked working educators to help us identify a design and tagline that would effectively accomplish that goal. The result is the new logo and tagline. We are proud of it, and we are proud of what it means.” Since being chartered more than 75 years ago by a small group of Los Angeles teachers, the education community has built California Credit Union into a billion-dollar federally insured financial institution. CCU is a not-for-profit financial services institution serving nearly 80,000 members with 10 convenient branch locations throughout Los Angeles County. Membership is open to schools, school-related organizations and individuals in the California private and public education community. CCU Sponsors Green Ambassadors Trip to Brazil
California Credit Union proudly sponsored a raffle benefiting Environmental Charter High School's Green Ambassadors, who journeyed with eight inner-city students to Brazil to study wildlife, culture and language. The Green Ambassadors empower youth to be agents of change in their schools, communities and the world through hands-on environmental education. Student participants learn about bio-diesel, plastic pollution, organic food and international conservation, and are then required to share their knowledge with others. The lives of these students have been transformed as they grow into leaders, presenting their knowledge to schools and community partners. To ensure that environmental education and adventure continues to be available to the youth of Los Angeles, the Green Ambassadors is proudly seeking sponsorship.
